Why we celebrate Father's Day?

We celebrate Father's Day every year in honor of father. On this day people or children are made aware about the importance of father and they are told that how special father is for us, there is no other in this world like him, so we should respect him, love him and take care of him.

The idea of celebrating Father's Day was first given by Sonora Smart Dodd. She was the daughter of a Civil War veteran. Inspired by the ideas of Mother's Day, she also thought of celebrating a day in honor of father. His idea was accepted by the United States and on 19 June 1910, Father's Day was celebrated for the first time on the third Sunday of June.

A father is such a special gift for his children that no one can ever give to anyone.
